Mimi Wood 
34 Week Instructor (Acro/Dance)--Solo Coach--On 2 College 

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Mimi began her dance training at the age of three. Through her years in competitive dance she has trained under and worked with some of the top choreographers and instructors in the industry and obtained three National Solo Championships. In high school she competed with the Millard North Varsity Dance Team for four years, during which the team brought home eight state championships and three top three placements in UDA’s National Dance Team Championship. 

Mimi attended the University of Nebraska and spent her four years as an Elementary Education major and a member of the Husker Scarlets Dance Team. Her senior year she served as captain and was honored to be the first dancer at UNL to be awarded First Team All-Big Ten. She graduated in December 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Education and Human Sciences. 

Mimi has a great passion for investing in Nebraska’s youth, which has led her to continue teaching and coaching at No Limits and to starting her own nonprofit organization, Empower You. Through her nonprofit’s Dance and Develop program, she is working to provide affordable dance education and personal development activities for children from underserved communities.

Some other interests of Mimi’s include pageantry. In 2020 Mimi competed in her first pageant for the title of Miss Nebraska USA and placed 3rd runner-up. She enjoys the challenge of preparing for pageants and the personal growth she obtains by being pushed out of her comfort zone. She placed 1st runner-up for the Miss Nebraska USA pageant in 2021, and 2nd runner-up in 2022.
